As I mentioned in my last post you must consider this to be a business and treat it as such, as I said it is indispensable advice that will put you well ahead of where most people are at in this business. I mentioned that I would cover some of the pitfalls that I have fallen into and how you can avoid them. The reason I say treat this as a business will (hopefully) become clear as we continue.

I do not know how you got involved in this but for me it was due to searching for a way to provide more for the people who are closest to me and to make a positive contribution particularly through being able to donate to those in need that brought me to the internet. As I have stated I run a business anyway and it does provide a good income but I wanted more from life than working 60 hours a week. Sound familiar?

So I searched and searched until I found something that interested me, you know the kind of thing, work from home, no selling required, push a button and let the money roll in. All that type of stuff. So I paid my money, followed the plan, maxed out my credit cards, no result, so I answered a few emails that came to my inbox and tried something else, same thing no result. This happened there or four more times each time looking for the next thing that was going to work, no difference. I was frustrated and angry and out of pocket.

Here’s the unvarnished truth, any programme that offers money for nothing i.e. no work just push a button will not work for you unless you take the time to treat it as a business and learn how to market it. When you do the results are astounding. It is not hard to do, through this series I will teach you how I do it and how I have managed after trial and error to start making an income at this.

These are the things to be aware of: If you see an offer something like this

No selling required,

1. 
   
2. Free leads,
3. Pus a button and watch the money roll in,
4. No effort
5. Etc etc.

I am not saying that any of these programmes don’t work, most of them work quite well, the thing is you need to work at it, nothing good comes of not putting in some effort. There is some selling required, nobody buys anything unless they want it and then they need to be sold.

A Short Update

Hi folks

A Little bit of Teaching (1st in a series)

I just want to quickly say a little bit about myself. I am 47 years old and I have a wife, three children, a dog and a cat, and of course like most people of my generation a big mortgage. I came into this business to find a way to bring freedom from stress and worry about paying the bills and to give me more time with my family. My background is that I am a trained and qualified Accountant and for the past 4 ½ years I have run my own practice. I have begun to move out of that area however and have for the past year been building a business that specializes in financial coaching for small and medium sized business’s. So i do have a lot of experience in running a business and a lot of experience in coaching a development. My object in posting on this blog is to become your coach.

Despite all my years of being in business coming into this area has been a real eye opener for me and unfortunately I came in (like most people) with my blindfold firmly in place. That resulted in trying all the next big things and in maxing out credit cards for little or no return. However, like most people on the road to success I have not let that deter me and treat those as learning experiences, during the course of this email series I will share with you my defeats and my victories. I doing that you will benefit by only having to go down the pathway of victories and not end up losing your shirt.

Right on we go. I do not know what has brought any of you to seek out a business opportunity on the internet but I imagine that it was something along the following, more income, a desire to pay off debt, clearing the mortgage or telling your boss where to go. Whatever the reason that you have it is a valid one, I would hazard a guess that for most of you it could be summed up in two words, FINANCIAL FREEDOM. Well, an internet business can provide that and it can provide it quickly as long as you are aware of the risks and you have the tools to do the job properly.

The first bit of advice that I can give you and it is a very simple piece of advice is: Please if you are going to come into the internet business treat it as a business, I will say that it again because it is very important treat it as a business. Why; because that is what it is. Despite that fact that you will run this from home via the computer it is a business in the same manner that the store along the street from you is a business, you will be selling goods and or services but instead of selling through a store you will be selling electronically. Getting the idea that this is a business will make you treat it as such and you will be far better off than most who get involved in this by the pure fact that they do not treat as a business and sit back expecting money to just come rolling in. I am not saying that you should work 70 to 80 hours per week but you will need to put some time in. I expect that will be in the area when you are starting off around 8 to 10 hours per week, most of that will be learning.

As I said very simple piece of advice but to start the ball rolling, indispensable. A business whether it is physical or virtual is a business. If you feel that you do not want to become a business owner my advice to you is please do not get involved in this industry, you will get caught by the sharks and there are unfortunately a lot of them swimming around on the internet.

That being said however, once you start to treat this as a business you will find a whole new world of infinite possibilities as I have.

The next post will cover some of the pitfalls that I have encountered and how to avoid them. After that we will get into the nuts and bolts of building your number 1 business asset, your LIST.

Network Marketing?

Just what is this whole business of Network, MLM or internet marketing?

if you have a close look at all of the emails that you receive on a daily basis are these messages trying to get something from you or give something to you? Lets be frank for the most part these emails are deigned to get you to take some kind of action so that you get in on the downline of the person who has sent the email and then they get some money from you, your hope is that you will be able to do the same thing in the same way.

Some of the emails that i have received have made the most outrageous claims, but personally my belief is that the sender is as new to the game as you are and cannot really help you in the way that they claim. To be perfectly straight the only people making the huge amounts of money are at the top of the chain. Thing of the MLM as a pyramid (not a pyramid scheme) with the top earners at the apex and everyone else filtered down. the top people do not care a bit about you at all they are sitting back and watching the money roll in.

Now my view of this business. Network marketing, MLM or whatever you choose to call it is not about trying to sell a product/service or an opportunity, the NETWORK is the people in it. This business is all about relationships, who do you have a relationship with? The people you trust of course, people who will help and guide you as much as possible to achieve what you want to achieve. I have big dreams and goals for the people who are most important to me, my family, i want to provide them with the best life possible, comfort, security and the ability to travel the world so that my children can learn and experience. i can only do that by building relationships with the people that i sponsor into this business, your success is my success.

in my other life i am a financial coach who helps customers to learn the skills necessary to run their normal businesses well. it is not network marketing or MLM but it is relationship based. i meet with each client twice a month on a one on one basis, without relationship they will not work with me.

My pledge to you is to work with you and you with me and we can all achieve our dreams of success.

Passion Part Two

I once read that if you are passionate about what you do and you can make an income from it you will never have to work another day in your life. I beleive that totally, if you love what you do no matter how hard you work at it or how long or how much you make you are not really working. What a way to live your life PASSIONATELY.

When i am with clients and we are going through a coaching session the time really flies before i know it we are finished and it never feels like i am working.

In the MLM business find something that you are passionate about and you will never look back, find something you believe in apply your values to it and the sky is the limit. Once again i will make my commitment to you, work with me and i will teach you all that i know and all that i learn and we will be successful together. to me that is true success.

Passion

Just a quick post on my personal philosophy for success. The key is PASSION if you don't have passion you will never succeed in your endovours.

I personally have a passion for education although i am an accountant, (go figure), so i have put together a coaching programme for owners of small businesses to train them in the correct procedures and systems for successfully managing the finances of their business.

In the Network Marketing field, part of why i am involved is education both for myself and for others who work with me. As a personal pledge i promise to you that i will coach and educate you to the very best of my ability to be successful in this business. As i learn i will share what i have learned with you. That is the only way forward.
